I started in April 2023 as the HR Manager.

What is your current role and what is involved?

My role of HR Manager is really varied. I am here to support the business and its people, from maintaining the HR System, facilitating recruitment to writing and implementing new policies. No day is the same!

What is your proudest moment at Lemon so far?

Being part of setting up the Wellbeing Hub and rolling out the Dignity and Respect policy.

What is the best thing about working at Lemon?

    Amy, Operations Support

How long have you worked at Lemon and in which roles?

I have worked at Lemon for just over 4 years now. My joining role was Operations Support and about a year later went onto working in the Transport department as Transport Planner. I worked in planning for about a year before deciding to go back to my original role. I have been back in Operations for around 2 years now and very soon I will be onto my next adventure to the Accounts team!

What is your current role and what is involved?

Currently, I am doing Operations Support. I have various duties – paperwork, statistic reports, phone calls and emails. No two days will be the same for me – which is why I love it so much! I will also cover the Transport or Production department if there is any annual leave. I am based at the Wickford depot but sometimes travel to our Baltic depot to help out which is always a nice change of scenery and a great opportunity to expand my knowledge further.

What is your proudest moment at Lemon so far?

It’s hard to pinpoint one moment in which I feel proudest, but overall I’m proud of what I’ve learnt and how I’ve grown at Lemons. If you told me 4 years ago I’d know as much about lorries and steel as I do now, I wouldn’t believe it! I’ve gone out of my comfort zone many times which is something I could never do before my time here. I’ve taken plunges here, built my confidence and so far I’ve only seen the positives of it.

What is the best thing about working at Lemon?

I would have to say my colleagues. When I started working here I was very shy and barely spoke two words. My colleagues made me feel welcome and really brought me out of my shell – now they can’t shut me up! When I stepped down from transport, they were very supportive and I didn’t feel judged in anyway. There can be a negative stigma around changing roles, but at Lemons that doesn’t exist.

What would you say to anyone thinking of joining us?

Take the plunge and do it! There are opportunities to switch roles and find where you can really excel in your career. There is a lot of support within the company and a lot of knowledgeable people who can guide you through anything you need.
